About the Río Celeste Hiking & Nature Adventure

Embark on an unforgettable full-day journey into the heart of Costa Rica’s natural beauty. This carefully designed tour blends waterfalls, pristine rainforest, wildlife encounters, local cuisine, and cultural traditions into one seamless experience.

Hidden Waterfall & Tropical Forest Swim

Your adventure begins with a refreshing stop at a hidden natural waterfall surrounded by tropical forest. Here, you’ll have time to swim, relax, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the jungle—an ideal way to start the day immersed in nature.

Tenorio Volcano National Park & Río Celeste

Next, we travel approximately 40 minutes to Tenorio Volcano National Park, one of Costa Rica’s most remarkable protected areas. With a professional naturalist guide, you will hike through lush rainforest trails on a moderate round-trip walk of about 1.8 miles.

Along the trail, your guide will share insights into the region’s unique ecosystems, wildlife, and geology, leading you to the highlight of the day: the legendary Río Celeste Waterfall. Famous worldwide for its striking sky-blue color, this natural phenomenon is one of Costa Rica’s most breathtaking sights and a must-see destination.

Authentic Costa Rican Lunch

After the hike, enjoy a well-deserved traditional Costa Rican lunch at a local restaurant, where fresh ingredients and homemade flavors offer a true taste of local culture.

Sloths & Wildlife Observation

Following lunch, take part in a guided wildlife experience focused on observing sloths in their natural environment. This area is also home to several iconic species, including the Red-Eyed Tree Frog and Poison Dart Frog, making this portion of the tour ideal for nature lovers and photographers.

Coffee, Chocolate & Sugar Cane Experience

To complete the day, visit a local family-owned coffee and chocolate farm. During a hands-on demonstration, you will learn about the traditional, chemical-free production process of Costa Rican coffee and chocolate. Enjoy tastings of fresh coffee, artisanal chocolate, and natural sugar cane, offering an authentic cultural connection to Costa Rica’s heritage.
